Reflectiing on research so far...
What do you think about the conversation going on around your topic?
I think that many people are concerned with my topic, that AIM messaging may be causing a problem with writing in the school systems. Many teachers and parents, I feel, are concerned with it because they either see children spending a lot of time on the computer using it or the student’s writing is starting to reflect the way that they write on AIM. It’s a topic that I feel that many people wonder about but don’t explore enough. It seems like a tiny tiny buzz in the electronic world, even though it is an interesting topic to research.
Do you have any concerns or see any problems with the research process?
The only problem that I have with the research process is that many people have opinions about it, but not enough people have actually explored doing research to back up their opinions. I have found two very good articles that people have actually explored this topic and have found a sufficient amount of information to go on and base their opinions on them. Many other articles that I’ve found just state opinions and why they have those opinions, no real research has gone on.
